Following the failure of the Omnibus 2 Directive trialogue, which must clarify the Solvency II Directive, the European Commission proposed to await the results of a new study on the impact of future solvency rules for insurance companies before concluding negotiations. The results should be known by March 2013. This additional time could lead to the postponement of the entry into force of Solvency II from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2015.
